Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) today organised the Post-Staff Mobility Programme Best Practices Sharing Convention, attended by nearly 200 university staff members.

The programme aimed to serve as a platform for the sharing of knowledge, experiences and best practices gained through staff participation in mobility programmes both domestically and abroad.

The convention featured 20 presenters who shared their findings and the impact of their respective mobility programmes through six parallel sessions held in separate rooms.

The event commenced with a welcoming address by the UMPSA Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri bin Ahmad Bakarim, who expressed his appreciation to all presenters and participants while emphasising the importance of comprehensive knowledge transfer and enrichment so that the benefits of mobility programmes can be extended to the entire university community.

This was followed by the keynote address and official opening delivered by the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah binti Alias. In her speech, she highlighted that mobility programmes not only enhance individual competencies but also strengthen strategic collaborative networks and reinforce institutional excellence in a holistic and sustainable manner.

During a special session with the Vice-Chancellor, three selected presenters were given the opportunity to present their key findings directly to her, namely Professor Ts. Dr. Sumaiya binti Zainal Abidin @ Murad, Dean of FTKKP; Ts. Mohd Rashid bin Abu Bakar; and administrative staff member, Mr Mohd Khairulnazri bin Saidi. Their presentations covered the impact of mobility implementation on teaching and learning, academic management, and the strengthening of international collaboration networks.

At the same event, the e-document UMPSA Staff Mobility Initiative 2025: Best Practices and Action Plan was also officially launched. The document serves as the university’s official record and centralised documentation of the implementation of the 2025 Staff Mobility Programme under Transformation Agenda 1: Strengthening and Advancing Individual Potential, in line with the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor’s 2025 Address.

The documentation has been systematically organised to include the programme background, staff participation details, best practices and follow-up action plans. It functions as a strategic repository for the university to strengthen governance, talent development, collaborative networks and working practices at UMPSA, based on the findings and best practice recommendations presented by mobility programme participants.

Before the programme proceeded with the parallel sessions across six different rooms, the Vice-Chancellor also delivered an overall summary, emphasising the need for focused and high-impact follow-up actions to ensure that each mobility outcome is translated into strategic initiatives that contribute directly to the university’s excellence.

The programme concluded with a briefing by the Director of the UMPSA Centre for Global Engagement, Herma Dina binti Setiabudi, who shared the university’s internationalisation direction and future plans for staff mobility programmes.

The organisation of this convention demonstrates UMPSA’s continued commitment to strengthening staff talent development and ensuring that every investment in mobility programmes delivers significant strategic returns to the university and its stakeholders.
